JILIPARK Outrights: Tournament Winner Bets vs Match Bets
Outrights are bets on the final result of a whole competition, such as the winner of a tournament or league, rather than on a single match.
| Fact | Value |
|---|---|
| JILIPARK Handicap Meaning | A handicap gives one side a head start in points or goals so a lopsided match becomes an even contest. |
| JILIPARK Moneyline | A moneyline is a bet on which side wins the match, with no head start. |
| JILIPARK Parlay Meaning | A parlay joins two or more bets, called legs, into one ticket. |
| JILIPARK Sportsbook Meaning | A sportsbook is the part of a betting service that lists sporting events, sets odds on them and settles the bets. |
Outrights are bets on the final result of a whole competition, like a tournament winner, instead of one match. You choose a runner now and the bet stays open until the competition is decided. To see where these bets sit among the other markets, open the wider JILIPARK sports hub.
Outrights compared with match bets
The main difference is time. A match bet settles in a couple of hours, and an outright can run for months.
| Feature | Match bet | Outrights bet |
|---|---|---|
| What you pick | The result of one game | The winner of the whole competition |
| When it settles | When the game ends | When the competition ends |
| Typical odds | Short, often 1.50 to 3.00 | Longer, often 4.00 and up |
| Your stake | Free again within hours | Tied up until the end |
| Chance of a loss | Depends on one game | Depends on every round |
Longer odds reflect that a runner must clear many hurdles, not one. A favourite in a 16-team knockout can still be 4.00, which is a 25 percent implied chance.
How an outright pays
The arithmetic is the same as any other bet: stake multiplied by the decimal odds gives the return. All figures here are examples, not JILIPARK odds.
- Choose a runner priced at 5.00 and stake PHP 300.
- Return if it wins: 300 x 5.00 = PHP 1,500.
- Profit: PHP 1,500 - PHP 300 = PHP 1,200.
- If it is knocked out in any round, you lose PHP 300.
Your stake is committed from the day you bet. Keep that in mind for your budget, because the money cannot be used again until the competition is over.
Why the margin is wider on outrights
A market with many runners carries a bigger overround than a two-way match bet. The sums below use example odds for six runners. For the method behind the sum, read how a sportsbook builds its margin.
| Runner | Example odds | Implied chance |
|---|---|---|
| A | 3.00 | 33.33% |
| B | 4.00 | 25.00% |
| C | 5.00 | 20.00% |
| D | 6.00 | 16.67% |
| E | 8.00 | 12.50% |
| F | 10.00 | 10.00% |
| Total | 117.50% |
The excess is 17.5 percent, against about 4.7 percent in a typical two-way market. That gap is the price of betting far ahead.
Each-way outrights
Some outright markets allow each-way betting, which is two equal bets: one for the runner to win and one for it to place. The place part pays a fraction of the odds, and the fraction and the number of places are written on the slip.
Example: PHP 100 each way on a runner at 11.00, with the place part paying one quarter of the profit odds over three places. The total stake is PHP 200.
- Runner wins: win part returns PHP 1,100 and place part returns PHP 350, a total of PHP 1,450.
- Runner places but does not win: only the place part pays PHP 350, so profit is PHP 150.
- Runner finishes outside the places: you lose PHP 200.
Finding outrights in the lobby
The JILIPARK lobby has a Sports tab, and BTi is among the vendors listed in the lobby. The competitions, runners, odds formats and limits available are read inside that tab, because they change with the calendar. Before you confirm, run through this list.
- Open the Sports tab and find the competition.
- Read the odds beside the runner you want.
- Read the slip’s rule for a withdrawn runner and for each-way terms.
- Check the stake and the potential return.
- Confirm only when both are the figures you wanted.
Winner bets can also be joined with other selections on one ticket, which changes the risk, as what a parlay is and how it pays explains. Play only if you are 21 or older and bet what you can afford to lose.
FAQ
What are outrights in betting?
Outrights, also called futures, are bets on the overall result of a competition, such as which team wins a tournament. You back one runner before the event and wait for the final outcome.
How is an outright different from a match bet?
A match bet settles when one game ends. An outright stays open for weeks or months, and your stake is tied up until the competition is decided.
What does each-way mean on an outright?
An each-way bet is two bets of equal size, one on the runner to win and one on it to finish in the places. The place part pays a fraction of the odds.
